Katsucon Day Two - Ippongi Bang Sings - Feb. 28, 1998

After the Katsucon 4 costume contest, fans waited patiently for the stage to be redressed for the concert by manga artist Ippongi Bang. For most of the crowd it would be their first chance to hear Bang sing...
...and the audience's wait was rewarded when Bang appeared and treated them to a performance of Japanese songs, some original and some anime themes.
Like Bang's manga studio, her concert performances are family shows in a way. Her husband, Yab Hiroaki, handles the tapes and synthesizer keyboard and even sings...
...and fellow manga artist Reijiro Kato also gets a chance to join Bang in belting out a song as the lead performer when he isn't singing backup vocals.
This time, the audience got to join in the on-stage fun. When Bang sang the title song from Sailor Moon, the cosplayers in Sailor Moon costumes were encouraged to jump on stage and help with the lyrics.
But, of course, Bang was the star of the show. The crowd had to be tired after eleven hours of Katsucon activity, but she kept the hall rocking...
...and the fans appreciated the show, no matter where they came from.
