A remarkable 4,500 people (estimated) attended Anime Expo 98, and many
of them were back in the main assembly hall at the Anaheim Convention Center
on Sunday afternoon for the closing ceremony. They heard the conclusion
of the joke started by Hiroyuki Kitakubo from the opening ceremony, when
he said he had come to Anime Expo to conquer the universe. "I think I was
successful just a little bit, and I have one subject now," he said, gesturing
to the far end of the table on stage... |
