He
produces! He edits! He translates! He gets to most of the anime cons in
the country! Toshifumi Yoshida came from the world of hard-core anime fandom
to make a living in the industry. He started with the long-lamented Animag.
Yoshida went from there to commercial translation projects and then to
Viz Communications, where he hands out business cards and wears a suit
and (occasionally) tie.Since most of Viz' editors and producers came from fandom,
they know it's important to go to anime conventions to meet the fans. Besides,
someone has to make sure that those parties are properly attended (said
to be among Yoshida's top abilities).
