Lloyd Carter of Anime Weekend Atlanta spent the day moving from table to table, enjoying the chance to attend an entire anime convention - and not have to run it.
Rikki and Tavisha Simons of Reality Check fame were on hand, ready to talk about their new projects from the last year.

At Project: A-Kon they don't throw something out to mark the opening of the convention, they throw something in. This is the ritual throwing of the first fan into the dealer room at 11 a.m.
David Williams of ADV Films was still giving away the company's "parking stickers" at their booth. The company was expected to announce a group of new titles to add to the ones that have filled their production schedule.

It should be no surprise that the first thing that artist Fred Perry did at A-Kon was to sit down at a table and draw.
Nearby was Perry's patron at Antarctic Press, Ben Dunn, with a new tape and CD-ROM package to sell.
