This cake was one of several baked to celebrate the 10th Project: A-Kon,
the oldest anime convention in the U.S. There was enough cake for 600 people... |
...thanks to Meri Hazlewood, the person in charge of A-Kon. She announced
that 1,200 people had registered in advance for A-Kon, up from 800 in 1998. |
The ceremony started with a performance by the Kobushi taiko drummers. |
Hazlewood returned, backed by some people who held up the anniversary
banners. |
Next came a ballet demonstration, a skillful dance by a performer who
had more to offer than most thought. |
To bring the crowd down from the ethereal heights of art, the conventions
then produced Tim Thomerson and his admission that he wears a toupee. |
