This page hadn't encountered Apollo Smile since the inaugural Animazement in 1998. She had been scheduled to appear at Anime Weekend Atlanta in 1998, but had to cancel because of a fuji TV commitment. Smile has pent most of her convention time in 1999 at sci-fi conventions (including plans to be at the huge DragonCon in Atlanta), but is scheduled to appear at the Canadian National Anime Expo in August. She had a booth filled with merchandise at the Tranquility Base dealer's room. |

When the author mentioned that he had last seen Smile at Animazement,
she immediately wanted to know who was on hand for the North Carolina convention
in 1998, especially Nov. Takahashi of Studio Hard. Smile said that the
first episode of her comic has completely sold out and is now a collector's
item. One fan asked Smile her favorite anime: she said it was Iria: Zeiram
the Animation.
Smile got a lot of attention at the opening ceremony when she did a back-flip down the aisle on her way to to the stage, and she drew more attention in the dealer's room: |
