If you want to understand anime fighting scenes,
you should understand the fighting styles. The Bugeikuden Hall of Martial
Virtues staged an exhibition at Nan DesuKon, showing those styles to fans.
The athletes in the white and black outfits demonstrated kounryusui kenjutsu,
the art of the Samurai, fighting with a sense of honor. Those in black
practiced kurai kotori ninjutsu, the art of the Ninja (or "dirty fighting,"
as one athlete called it). Also, one of the members of the Panther Comicsstudio
showed his prowess in solo competition. |
