 Sakura Con
has been dedicated to Bill Cooper, a supporter of the previous Baka!Cons
who died a few weeks before the 2000 event, the first to bear the new name.
The opening ceremonies were as much concert as a chance to meet the guests
of honor (who also appeared at a Friday night reception). Performing at
the ceremonies were the energetic YushinDaiko drum group, and the graceful
Taka Koto Ensemble. There's no sound on this page, but the pictures help
to show the artistry and the contrast between the groups. |
