A third year for Anime Central meant a third home: in 2000 the convention moved to the Sheraton Arlington Park, a hotel which had been a Hilton a few months earlier before it was "reflagged."

Largest crowd of Friday morning was the group trying to register for the convention; second largest was of people trying to get hotel rooms.

Just before the opening ceremonies, this sign and American doujinshi appeared outside the convention hall...

Horn, Viz manga editor and one of the few people on Friday in a suit and tie, then hosted the opening ceremonies with familiar faces such as Viz Video producer Toshi Yoshida (left).

Then came J. Torres, writer for the new Sidekicks comic from the equally new Fanboy Entertanment. (Takeshi Miyazawa, artist for Sidekicks, was caught behind him in this picture.)
