A third year for Anime Central meant a third home: in 2000 the convention
moved to the Sheraton Arlington Park, a hotel which had been a Hilton a
few months earlier before it was "reflagged." |
Largest crowd of Friday morning was the group trying to register for
the convention; second largest was of people trying to get hotel rooms. |
Just before the opening ceremonies, this sign and American doujinshi
appeared outside the convention hall... |
...a production of Studio APK, Carl Horn (left) and Richard Anderson
(right). |
Horn, Viz manga editor and one of the few people on Friday in a suit
and tie, then hosted the opening ceremonies with familiar faces such as
Viz Video producer Toshi Yoshida (left). |
Then came J. Torres, writer for the new Sidekicks comic from the equally
new Fanboy Entertanment. (Takeshi Miyazawa, artist for Sidekicks, was caught
behind him in this picture.) |
