Anime Central Early Arrivals

The author got to the Sheraton Arlington Park at 3:30 a.m. to avoid Chicagoland traffic. He found this pack of fans in the lobby...	...and, of course, Steve Bennett of Studio Ironcat was in the middle of the pack.
Here's what the good part of the lobby looks like; the hotel was torn up for construction and fans had to make expressway-like detours aroundthe mess.	Fan Dave Zyn was on hand, one of the two known fans to have played Roger Smith of The Big O before it was cool.
Greggo of the Anime Match Game showed his badge, appropriately with a picture of Gene Rayburn, the original TV host of the game.	Becca of Nan Desu Kan and Stan of Anime Weekend Atlanta insisted on this picture, to show fans that there are no hard feeling between their conventions, even though both events are on the same weekend in 2001.
