In 2001, Nan Desu Kan came a weekand a half after the terrorist attacks and some guests of honor called off their appearances. In 2002, the Colorado convention had a large number of guests, starting with Nobuyuki Takahashi of Studio Hard.

The publisher and promoter encouraged Nan Desu Kan fans to travel to Japan and attend the 2003 Tokyo International Anime Fair, which is one of the major industry events.

Susumu Sakurai, already known for his Sentimental Grafitti 2 game design, now is working on a Mahoromatic game and also is the editorial director for the forthcoming Raijin Comics translated manga.

Takahashi and Sakurai brought some rare art to Colorado, including production cels from Macross Seven.

More rare art was brought by Noboyuki Ohnishi, the concept artist for the classic Royal Space Force film, "a very old movie" as Onishi described it.
