Brianne Siddall and Samantha Inoue-Harte
2004
This site last encountered actor Brianne Siddall one month earlier at AnimeFEST. Siddall was called to Ani-Magic as a replacement of sorts for Monica Rial, and it was a natural choice because Siddall (left) comes from the same area where the southern California convention was held. Siddall is currently voicing Mythos in Tales of Symphonia and is working on roles in Zenosaga. It was Siddall's idea to start the Friday afternoon panel by throwing candy at the audience, and that meant treats for everyone, except for the peanut butter cups that Samantha Inoue-Harte (right) kept for herself. Inoue-Harte, who doubles as an actor and an animator, is creating electronic greeting cards while she's waiting to join the crew that will work on the movie version of the Clerks series from Kevin Smith
Siddall, who was amazed by a fan who brought a toy of one of her Mighty Morphin Power Rangers characters to the panel discussion, chatted about her roles in .hack, Saint Tail and Mon Colle Knights ("That was a weird character - that was unusual," she said. "Normally I get boy parts, but this time they trusted me with a girl part.") For nine years, Siddall worked as a Power Rangers production assistant while she voiced monsters and characters such as Circuit the owl. ''From day one it was hilarious," she said. When Siddall mentioned that she had been Fifi the robot in the dub of the Metropolis movie, Harte was thrilled. "You did Fifi in Metropolis? Oh my god," Harte shouted. "I'm a fangirl just like everybody else." That sort of fannish reaction is something that Siddall appreciates after 20 years in the business. "You guys are awesome, you're the reason that we work. You guys really respect our privacy. You're generous and sweet, and I appreciate that."
Harte has a high-pitched voice that sounds like an anime character. While one producer said "you have the most annoying voice in the entire universe," others heard Harte's voices and heard potential. As she tells it, she was tricked into becoming an actor. A request that Harte pick up some stuff at a FedEx office turned into a trip to the Monster Island studio in Texas, where "All of a sudden I walked into this dark itty bitty place the size of a closet, and they said let's do some voice acting." So Harte has performed in Lost Universe, Nadia and the Secret of Blue Water, and Soul Hunters (where her first big role was Shinyo). Back in the real world of animation, Harte has created breakdowns for the newest versions of the Road Runner and the Jetsons, along with one of the most memorable recent Ruffles potato chips commercials. And Harte said she animated the panda in the mall hallucination scene of an Adam Sandler film.
