
As if to make a clear point to the hordes of gamers, Nintendo broke
out their ultimate force, an irresistible Pikachu that was nearly six
feet tall. No one could ignore the Pikachu, even the most determined
hard-core gamer.

But we still haven't stopped looking at the anime-themed displays at
the Gen Con dealers' room. Remember how the .hack anime series was
intended to be the ultimate multimedia experience, from animation to
several types of games? Those games were at Gen Con, too.

And there were familiar faces in the dealers' room who weren't selling games. Here's the Anime Pavilion booth...

...and across the hall was John Sirabella of Media Blasters, with the
largest anime DVD display at the convention.

While there was a surprising number of anime dealers at the gaming
show, a couple of companies - ADV Films and Central Park Media - didn't
returrn for 2004 after having dealers' room booths in 2003.
