Virginia Tech has produced more than Michael Vick; it also created Katsucon. At the opening ceremonies for the tenth Katsucon, convention chaiur Keith Mayfield recalled how a pair of anime fans in Blacksburg, Virginia dreamed up the idea for the convention.

Then, introduced were a group of guests of honor who helped make the dream come true, starting with familiar face Steve Bennett from Studio Ironcat.

It happened again: Emily DeJesus was the sole Studio Capsule representative at the opening ceremonies because husband Robert DeJesus was busy drawing sketches in the dealers' room.
