Actor Monica Rial all but thanked Lee for moving beyond ADV Films and
setting out on her own, saying that every time Lee left a role or an
acting job, she seemed to get the part.
The cleanest tale that actor Greg Ayres had about Lee was about an
improv theater night when the troupe was performing in front of a
Baptist church group. Lee promised to behave, then promptlhy went out
and told a church leader to "get your (expletive deleted) feet off the
stage."
As for the Auska-talks-about-Rei confrontation, Tiffany Grant (Auska in
Evangelion) had a long story about Lee (Rei) making a bunch of ADV
actors go to a restaurant to support a fellow actor who entered an
Elvis impersonation. Of course, the Elvis impersonator got the wrong
location and showed up late, and lost the contest.
Former roastee Steve Bennett added a sincerely senitmental tone to the
laughfest, by saying that Lee was one of the people who helped inspire
him to move beyond a construction job and resume his artistic career in
the U.S.
