On the afternoon after they shook the Columbus convention center with
their concert, Blood again donned the J-rock regalia to meet their
fans. Kiwamu, Takeshi, Taichi and Kaede strolled into a room, the
mostly female fans squealed with delight...
|

...and then the band answered questions from the audience. The band's
been together since junior high school, they take their inpsiration
from British and American groups, and they felt that American fans were
more enthusiastic than Japanese fans - and more interested in hugs.
|

The degree of enthusiasm was proven when Kiwamu rose and asked for a
volunteer so he could demonstrate J-rock makeup techniques. Half of the
fans in the room jumped to their feet...
|

...and the person chosen was an Ed costumer from Cowboy Bebop. Kiwamu
led off the demonstration by painting the volunteer's face...
|

...while other band members teased and sprayed her hair to give it that
special spiky, tousled look. As the band turned Ed into a J-rock star...
|

...another volunteer emerged, who happened to be the convention's
security chief who had spent the weekend watching out for the band.
|

The result: the security chief looked like he had lost a fight with Mike Tyson...
|

...while the Ed had a totally different, decadent look.
