 On
Thursday, Gen Con's registration lines stretched outside the convention
center and around the block. On Friday, this was all that was left. All
of the early arrivals had gotten their badges and gotten inside to be
part of the gaming show. |
 But
there was more than gaming inside the big convention center. There were
plenty of people on hand who have graced anime conventions with their
presence, and gaming fans wanted to meet the anime personalities on
gaming turf. |
Here's Gavin, Kathleen and Matt from Rooster Teeth Productions.
The guys behind the Red vs. Blue show were on hand to cause trouble and
unleash a bunch of videos on unsuspecting Hoosiers. They weren't far
from the artists' compound that featured Robert and Emily DeJesus in
the middle of a large group of noted fantasy and sci-fi artists. |
 The
Friday voice actor gathering began at the Funimation booth with Colleen
Clinkenbeard, who is used to the convention craziness, and Brandon
Potter, a relative newcomer to the dubbing world and the convention
culture. |
 At
the same time, Stephanie Sheh was at the Score Entertainment booth with
a line of fans waiting for her autograph. The Score and Funimation
booths were about a hundred feet apart in the dealers' room, but the
actors didn't know that each other were in the same area until we told
them. Yes, the room was that big and crowded on Friday. |
 Maybe
this passes for entertainment among gamers: the Geek Squad from Best
Buy was putting old computer hard drives in a press and crushing them.
It was too horrible to watch the drives reduced to rubble by the press'
brutal jaws and teeth. |
