Fans who have looked through this site's photo feature on the Heroes
Museum, the Indianapolis shrine to Superman, would have loved this
Mid-Ohio Con event. On hand was Noel Neill, the second Lois Lane actor
from the syndicated 1950's Adventures of Superman TV series. Evanier
again moderated the event, as fans got to hear a collection of stories
about what it was like to work with the late George Reeves (at least
one water dunking was involved, Neill said). This panel featured one of
the nicest surprises seen by this site at any convention...
...because the panel was billed as a birthday celebration for Neill,
who turned 87 on the convention's final day. Midway through the event,
Evanier called for a birthday cake to be presented, and it was walked
into the room by a Superman costumer, a fitting touch for an actor who
made her name in a Superman series.
There were only three candles on the cake to make Neill's task a little
easier. The fans enjoyed the special moment, and no one may have liked
the event more than the lucky guy in the Superman suit, who got to get
close to one of the legends of comics and television fandom.
