Convention Personality of the Week - January 14, 2007
For
someone so young, "Noodle" has shown a special, instinctive stage
presence and ability to connect with an audience. When he made his
Midwest debut at Ohayocon, Nicholas
Lee wasn't intimidated by the bright lights. At the opening ceremonies,
he confidently made his presence known at all times. Then,at the "Voices for Peace" concert with its intense sounds, he went straight to downstage center and directly
confronted the audience, before following in the footsteps of Sammy
Davis Jr. and playing the drums. It was a fine way for this young
performer to meet the public outside of his home area, where he had
spent some rough years. Noodle needed extensive treatment for leukemia,
but the treatment -- and the prayers and love of his parents and a
legion of friends -- have paid off. Now that Noodle has made his first
stage appearances, you have to assume that there's a major entertainment
career ahead, and you can give the credit to his always entertaining
parents.
