been making costumes for over 15 years, but unfortunately many people
don't know her because most of her costumes were made before digital
cameras became ubiquitous. Nevertheless, she's an incredibly inventive
costumer and can create the coolest-looking costumes out of the most
unlikely materials; we call her the Canadian McGyver. Besides
old-school anime she loves all things Godzilla, and her amazing
Godzilla costume is one of her more well-known creations. Besides her
costuming skills, Kaijugal has been an invaluable leader in the
Canadian cosplay community; she's singlehandedly run most of the
Toronto-area convention masquerades for years, and tirelessly works to
spread knowledge and expertise throughout the cosplay community. There
are several conventions here that I think would almost fall apart
without her efforts behind the scenes. She hardly ever gets to enjoy a
convention as she's always running 15 places at once to solve problems
and make sure everything's running smoothly, and yet she does all this
with grace and humor; she's one of the most cheerful and fun people I
know, despite all the stress she has to deal with. One of her favorite
sayings is "You must be the change you wish to see in the world", and
she definitely lives 100% by this philosophy. She won't just sit
around and complain about something if there's a problem; she'll wade
right in and try to fix it. "
