Ta-daa!
Playing Eclair, the superpowered schoolgirl, cyborg fighter, tariff
agent and babysitter in Kiddy Grade, isn't an easy job. You might have
to learn how to fight, but you'd better already have learned how to
act. That was the case with Colleen Clinkenbeard, who brought a wealth
of acting experience to the role. She already had an acting degree and
several lead roles in Dallas-area theatrical productions, but dubbing
Eclair was a new experience. And it all started with "Ta-daa!" Why
become an actor? "It's just an affinity for it," Clinkenbeard said. "As
soon as I landed at something I was good at, I grasped at it like I was
a dying woman - it's fun! You get to be so many different people, and
in real life you can be only one woman. Emotion is so much a drug. How
many times do you get to feel love or extreme terror - and in acting
you get to feel all of that in one day."
