Matt Greenfield - Anime Convention Personality of the Week - July 12, 1999

Matt Greenfield, producer for ADV Films, has had to cut back a bit on his attendance at conventions. It all goes back to the company's acquisition of what seems like dozens of anime titles for release in the U.S. and abroad. 1998's big wave of ADV titles, from the Bubble Gum Crisis TV series to Martian Successor Nadesico, has kept Greenfield busy at ADV's headquarters in Houston, pumping out the English-language version of those shows. More production work means a little less time appearing on panels at conventions. Now he's an executive, but Greenfield started as a fan. He tells stories of driving thousands of miles with friends in an old, beat-up van to go to some of the earliest American anime conventions.
