This site made an interesting discovery about Kelli Shayne Butler: she sings, she acts, and she's a cosplayer. Her dream is to combine all three if Katsuhiro Otomo's Memories ever is released in English, since she can act the role of Eva Friedel and sing the Madama Butterfly aria as Puccini intended. Her singing talent led her to move from Texas to New York, where she appeared in operas including Die Zauberflöte and Die Fledermaus. In 2003, Butler won an award in the Jenny Lind singing competition. But before the entered that contest, she had started a voice acting career with roles in the dubs of His and Her Circumstances and Boogie Pop Phantom. Long before Kelli had been invited to anime conventions as a guest of honor, she was attending them as a fan, and she's still wearing costumes to those events.
