Convention Personality of the Week - October 21, 2007
It's a sign of big progress when
you go from being the hopeful model to becoming the photographer who is
looking for other hopeful models. A few years ago, Jessie Pridemore was
the young woman who hoped that someone would notice her modeling
skills, appearing at anime conventions in the Midwest and searching for
a break. Since then, she's moved out of the Midwest to Florida and
played the geeky waitress in the independent
film Busgirl, acting in a
story that almost resembles her real life. When not making some
fascinating costumes, Pridemore has been the subject of many talented
photographers, and she's picked up a camera and turned its lens on
others to show her talents as well. Her advances in the costuming worls
could be seen at the Metrocon convention in 2007, when she appeared in
her costumes, then was a judge at the convention's Sunday costume
contest. And there's another potential movie in her future. Pridemore
joins a long list of personalities recognized on this site in one of
its more unique features - the personality of the week has now been
running for nine years and lists 471 personalities, with many more to
come.
