Funny Stones - Anime Convention Personalities of the Week - November 19, 2006

been models, singers, dancers, campaign girls at race tracks, ring
girls at prizefights, Cutey Honey and nearly part of a sentai team.
Maro and Aki have combined their talents to create the Funny Stones, a
sexy cosplay unit that enchanted fans at two American conventions in
2006. Aki is the juggler who became a singer, while Maro is the
photo book idol who was paid to be a Cutey Honey costumer by Toei. When
they were at SugoiCon, part of a group from TenBu Productions, they had more fun than most of the regular fans.
One of the idols wandered into an area where a DJ was playing music in
the hotel's atrium and broke out into a parapara dance. And they're as
much anime and manga fans as anyone you'll find at a convention. They
admitted that they're in love with all three of the Pretty Cure series,
and they've made costumes of the lead characters, which they wore to
Katsucon at the beginning of the year. They sign anime theme songs at
their concerts, but they also write and perform their own music.
