Ryan Mathews - Anime Convention Personality of the Week - Dec. 3, 2000 When the World-wide Web was new and the Internet was an academic preoccupation, Ryan Mathews was writing anime fan fiction and looking for a way to spread the word. He put his stories, based on shows like Dirty Pair, Bubble Gum Crisis and Urusei Yatsura, on the 'Net, becoming one of the first people to use that particular form on online distribution. After Mathews started posting his stories on his web site, he started writing a web review column for the Anime Web turnpike. And more recently he has been reviewing shows for the Akadot site.
